Country Rock Indie Greatness!

Sweeeettttt! So excited to write up a review for my pals in the James Carr Band! This track contains all the elements of what I've come to love about my fave indie band; catchy lyrics and vocal melody, uptempo and danceable, dare I say it, two step beat, sweet guitar leads and a good, tight band.

Let's dive a bit deeper. First, I love the organic and live tone of the recording. This sounds pretty straight off the floor in the recording studio to me. There's a sweet intro lead guitar melody (I love the guitar player in this band), a story set up by James which leads into a great chorus that is both celebratory and wistful all at once, recognizing that one must enjoy the great times they are having because who knows when they come around again. Nostalgia mixes with the present into a smooth mix of country rock whiskey.

James is great a writing catchy bridges that take us away from the main groove of the tune just enough to throw in some stops and return to that great chorus. There might be a better way to write great songs, but I haven't found it or heard it yet. Finally, the band doesn't mess around and keeps things short and sweet with a nice guitar outro to close out the tune.

To summarize, this is an awesome, catchy country rock track for a party and fans of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty and the Steve Miller Band will find this track slip into their mix perfectly. I might only argue that I'd like to have heard a sweet solo from the guitar (because I'm a big fan), but at the same time I respect the bands desire to keep things concise.

I'll give this track a 9.5 out of 10 and I hope you'd take a second to add this to your playlists and give these true indie warriors some support! Check the links below to connect:
