Eagerly awaiting the newest release from my fave indie rock band, I listened to the echoey initial guitar pickings and then was happy to hear the hard rocking shots come in and bring in the sound I know and love! James vocal is strong and confident, but what is interesting in this one is the sort of melancholic and nostalgic vibe of the lyrics. The chorus is interesting in a musical sense as well, because the guitar carries through a descending chord pattern while the bass stays lodged on the first chord, giving it a sort of ethereal feel that really complements the lyric. The guitar solo is amazing; this is top shelf indie guitar playing that simply kicks ass and finishes off with a super sweet Boston/Skynyrd-esque dual guitar harmony outro. Love it! The music breaks down a bit to hear James sing some very personal lyrics that, if performed by someone else might be percieved as a bit over the top, but the incredibly raw and honest delivery by Mr. Carr makes a person believe and know that he feels it and its real to him. What else do you need in a vocal? The song ends as it began with big, rocking band shots that lead us to the light - quite literally the lyrics!

In short, this is an awesome indie folk rock track with a heartfelt vocal, an amazing guitar solo and an all around great sounding band on top of their game. Their monthly listeners just keep on rising, so there's no harm in riding that wave, throwing this track on your fave playlist and lending these dedicated and driven indie rockers the support they deeply deserve.

Cheers...

Shane
